Regarding the Organization:

ESO Science Journalism is an ESO project, which aims to publish science journalism articles about astronomy and astrophysics. It’s a joint effort by the European Southern Observatory (ESO), Astronomy magazine, Scientific American, WIRED UK, Der Spiegel Online Germany, and other media partners.

The aim of this organization is to help young performers hone their skills and gain more exposure for them as they become better players. By networking with contacts in orchestras across Europe, ESO hopes to provide opportunities for its members to perform on prestigious stages such as Carnegie Hall or Royal Albert Hall.  The benefits of joining an amateur orchestra are plentiful; students get to learn about playing different instruments while also building up their confidence and self-esteem.
